Of course, from Planned Parenthood's point of view, giving birth to a beautiful new baby boy or girl is characterized as "being forced to bring a pregnancy to term".

Ignoring the extremist death cult rhetoric and you see a naked confession that Medicaid funding of abortion, such as we have in Washington, massively increases the number of abortions.

When contacting your legislators on this issue, make sure they know that the abortion industry has already conceded one of our main arguments.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617975400459945900.post-38172771043309092332009-07-15T23:26:00.000-07:002009-07-15T23:33:00.619-07:00Almost 500 Signatures, Need District HeadsThe petition campaign has almost reached the 500 mark! The current tally is 487. 500 signatures is just 10 for each of Washington's 49 legislative districts. Our short-term goal is 1,000 signatures, or just about 20 per district.

We are also looking for representatives for each district to serve as a liaison between the campaign and the legislators for that district. We already have a few such volunteers. Thanks very much for your service. We have started contacting legislators and are collecting official positions on this issue which will help us focus efforts.

If you are interested in helping in this way, please contact us at jonathan.bloedow@comcast.net.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617975400459945900.post-88794942286628894202009-05-19T23:06:00.000-07:002009-05-19T23:12:40.619-07:00Now Over 350 SignaturesWell the signatures keep rolling in. We're now at over 350. Thank you for all who have signed. We expect the momentum to continue. Please continue to publicize the campaign in your own networks, your churches, your local pro-life groups, or simply your common-sense friends.

For those who attend church, please notify your church leaders (pastors or priests) and make sure they know about it. We want to see plenty of signatures from community leaders.

One thing we've noticed is that women are making up about 90% of our signatures. For those with men in your life, please forward to them and ask them to sign also.

Thank you again for all your support!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617975400459945900.post-27349920892891517942009-04-28T23:51:00.000-07:002009-05-07T23:55:18.582-07:00Crossed the 200 Signature Mark Already!Thank you very much! This campaign has barely begun, and thanks to you we've already crossed the 200 signature mark. In fact, as of this writing, we're at 212 signatures, from all over the state. For a geographic representation of the signers, go here.

Please keep those signatures coming. Tell your friends, and please get your immediate family members to sign also. This stage of the campaign is all about numbers. We need the politicians in Olympia, even the friendly ones, to be able to point to something concrete that demonstrates the public is behind this effort.

Also, for those of you on Facebook, we now have a campaign page there. It already has 93 fans. Please connect with us there, and promote it to your Facebook friends.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617975400459945900.post-16316953579358465172008-11-12T06:57:00.000-08:002009-04-14T13:27:41.713-07:00FAQ #6: What Can I Do?1) Sign the petition (see top right corner) or click here. In fact, it's going into the pockets of abortion doctors and abortion clinic owners. So the question then is, how badly do these people need this money?

The Abortion In Washington blog covered this very well. (reprinted with permission)

Below is a listing of the salaries for some of the top employees of Washington's largest chain of abortion centers -- Planned Parentood -- and the Cedar River Clinic. Remember your tax dollars go to pay the salaries of these people, which makes them essentially sub-contractors for the state.

Wow. Look at those numbers! We've got a suggested recruitment tagline for the local abortion industry: "It may be killing, but it's one heck of a living!"

Planned Parenthood of Western Washington

Christine Charbonneau

CEO

$259,418

R. All of the above are "non-profits". Just how much sacrifice do you think is involved for these individuals? Do we really want a society where an individual can make a very comfortable full-time career doing (or arranging) abortions?

NOTE: All salaries include benefit plan contributions, not just salary total compensation. Those facts are that the Department of Health & Human Services spends around $7 million each year paying for about 14,000 abortions. This is through the Medicaid program. That money ends up in the hands of abortion providers. Many of those abortion providers pull down salaries of about $250,000/year. Ask them if they support government policies which encourage people to choose abortion.

Ask them if they want to see the abortion rate go down. If so, how does making 60% of abortions free achieve that?

Much of this $7 million goes to Planned Parenthood, which in this state makes a $5 million profit each year, and has doubled its revenues in the last 8 years. They make $7 million of profit just in sales of birth control to low income women. They are increasing their abortion business by 11% each year. Ask your legislators if they support taking money from your family to give handouts to these massively profitable abortion businesses.

If your legislator is<span style=";font-family:";font-size:16;" > "pro-choice", ask them whether they support your right to choose whether or not to pay for someone else's abortion?

Ask them if they would you support legislation to bring Washington's laws into line with the rest of the country and stop using tax money to pay for abortions.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617975400459945900.post-28413766837827897812008-11-09T15:46:00.000-08:002008-11-09T16:16:59.636-08:00FAQ #1: How Much Tax Money & How Many Abortions?[From DSHS's 2007 numbers], here are the most recently published figures for the total number of abortions they paid for with your and my money for State Fiscal Year 2006. This state is one of the last remaining holdouts that still subsidizes the abortion industry with taxpayers' money.

We're going to change that.

As someone once said, "we may not get there in one year", but in the days ahead, we are going to help all those Washingtonians who object to this outrageous policy, while the government is running deficits close to $3 billion, have their voices heard in Olympia, until the policy is changed.

No more will hardworking taxpayers be forced to take part in the practice of abortion against their will. Regardless what your thoughts are on abortion itself, we're sure you are pro-choice when it comes to your money.

That $7 million of your money that is being given to Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics, and the wealthy abortion doctors across this state needs to be returned to you to buy groceries and gas.

Stay tuned. We don't know how long it's going to take, but we're going to get there. Together.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
